What I Listened To In 2007

My friend/boss/colleague Paul Jacobson asked members of his band to list the most listened to albums of 2007. As one who thrives on listening to music and sharing my results (often unsolicited) I thought I'd post my list.

Oh and by the way, Paul is a gifted songwriter who I'm gonna go ahead and recommend checking out. You can myspace him here.

This list reflects my current financial status (that and I'm currently ripping all my CD's to a large hard drive). So yeah, lots of nostalgia for me:

Muddy Waters - Hard Again Oh, the groove.

M Ward - Post War Recorded at my buddy Mike's house in Portland with my old drumset on it.

Laika - Sounds of the Satellites A personal gift from Margaret, lead singer and songwriter.

John Zorn's Electric Masada - Electric Masada
Awesome.

Elvis Costello & The Imposters - The Delivery Man
Saw this band a couple of years ago...lifelong dream finally came true.

The Little Willies - The Little Willies
My buddy Jim adapted one of my favorite songs that I used to play with him back in the day "Easy As The Rain"...one of my most favorite songs of all time.

Easy Dub All Stars - Radiodread Thanks, Paul.

Bill Frisell - UnSpeakable
Great workin'-put-the-headphones-on kinda stuff.

PJ Harvey - Is This Desire? She kissed me on the cheek once...I kept that lipstick smear for a couple of days and leveraged my hipster status big time.

Tom Waits - Orphans I've known about this album for years as I was supposed to be on it, sad I wasn't but happy to hear him get political with "Road To Peace" amongst some other oddities like his stories on Disc 3.

World Psychedelic Classics - Vol. 3
Another great deadline-gotta-git-r-dun-late-night album.

Trojan Records Compilation - Soulful Reggae
Rootsy and grooves like reggae should...with classic Motown and Stax songs reinterpreted.

Leon Redbone - On The Tracks A classic around the Campbell house growing up...I remember having to reach up to the turntable to drop the needle.

I'm gonna go ahead and tag Matt, Jon and Paul.

Give it up, boys. We all wanna know.
